Drama Group is one of the several talented youth groups at the St.Francis Chapel which uses drama to portray encouragement and positiveness to the youth and the entire St Francis Community.
The Ministry stared in 1994 with a group of five ( 5) people but has ever since grown, with a current membership of 8active members at campus among the over 60 members outside campus who regularly come back whenever called upon to do ministry according to demand. Among the pioneers are The Mugaruras , Rev.Gideon Byamugisha.
The vision of Drama Group is to have a generation that cherishes a GODLY principle- centered and CHRIST like character-based lifestyle, through ministering to all the English speaking services of the St.Francis Chapel and the entire Makerere Community.
Membership is open to whoever is inspired by the Spirit of the MOST HIGH GOD to minister through Drama in such activities as acting, Directing plays, writing scripts for the plays and even standing in as a prayer partner with the entire group.
Among the many activities through ministry that are performed by Drama Group at St.Francis Chapel are:
#Sunday service skits in three (3) services i.e. 9 o’clock, 9@ the Center and 11 o’clock.
#Seasonal productions i.e. Christmas and Easter Productions
# Hilarious evenings
# Fresher’s welcome session during the Orientation week.
Other forms of Ministry are on invitation to different fellowships (Main Christian Union), meetings ( Professional dinners and conferences , Prime Time) and other schools(been Makerere College School, Trinity College Kabale, Greenhill Academy among others )and Universities(Uganda Christian University)
Drama Group meets every Thursday (6:00-7:00 pm) for the weekly fellowship meeting where members are inspired by the word of GOD and encouragements and every Saturday (4:00-7:00pm) at the Chapel Gardens for preparation of the Sunday Service.
